Revised Match and Training Protocol issued by Panthers to ensure a safe return as lockdown eases

As the Government's route map out of lockdown progresses, grassroots football is permitted to return under strict conditions from Monday 29th March onwards. All Panthers teams will recommence training sessions in the coming weeks and each coach will inform you of the exact details of when and where training will take place.

As Maidenbower Park is presently out of action due to our major pitch renovation works, matches and training sessions will take place at other venues in Crawley for the foreseeable future. We hope to be able to return to the Park from early May onwards although the exact date is still to be confirmed.

There are a number of important restrictions still in force to prevent the spread of COVID-19, as follows:

  • Spectators are NOT currently permitted at any grassroots football match or training session. However, for safeguarding reasons, one parent per player is permitted to attend.
  • All players and parents are required to register their attendance at a match or training session, and to confirm that they have completed a COVID-19 self-assessment prior to arrival.
  • Each team will have a designated Team COVID-19 Officer who is responsible to take the register and send it to the club for track-and-trace purposes. Please give your full support to the Team COVID-19 Officer as they carry out their duties.
  • Players, coaches and parents must continue to follow all social distancing and personal hygiene guidance - e.g. standing 2m apart, regular hand sanitisation, and all players to bring their own hand sanitiser and water bottle to the sessions.

It is vital that we all adhere to these restrictions and procedures, no matter how inconvenient they seem. Failure to do so will increase the risk of spreading COVID-19 and could result in the club being prevented from playing football.

We ask all parents and our older players to read and familiarise themselves with the contents of our fully updated Match and Training Protocol. If you would prefer for your child not to return to football at the present time we fully respect and support that decision - please just let the coach of the team know.

Keeping everybody safe is our number one priority as a club and we thank all participants for playing their part in this.

If you have any questions, queries or concerns, you can email the Club Welfare Officers at welfare.cmpanthersfc@outlook.com or the Club COVID-19 Officer (Kirsty Butcher) at kirstypanthers@outlook.com

Thanks for your continued support throughout the pandemic and a happy Easter to you all.

COME ON YOU PANTHERS.
